Published by Caprique Editorial, 'El secreto del mercury' is a historical novel that begins with such a fortuitous event as the transfer of a 2,500-year-old Egyptian temple to the Spanish capital. From there, the reader enters a detective and initiatory plot, where he will enjoy discovering hidden stories of alchemy and spies in places of power as disparate as Madrid, Egypt, France and Italy. The work shows us in detail how this pagan temple directly influenced the Spanish transition in Madrid in the 1970s.

Both his prose and his plot are focused on avid readers of novels like Dan Brown (Da Vinci Code) or JK Rowling (Harry Potter). Novels clearly marked because their protagonist begins a journey of self-knowledge and change. The target of this work are the generations of readers who have matured with these novels and want to take a step further in initiatory alchemical knowledge.

Likewise, the plot is also a tribute to great authors who have influenced the author, as a writer, such as Arthur Conan Doyle (Sherlock Holmes) Benito Pérez Galdós (The Court of Carlos IV). In fantastic stories, authors like Oscar Wilde (The Picture of Dorian Gray) Mary Shelley (The Modern Prometheus) and of course, the great Isaac Asimov (The Foundation).

Ernesto Hernanz Colmenero. Writer of novels and essays, author of several works in narrative and poetry since childhood. He is an avid reader and expert on Alchemy books and their history. He has made trips to the most emblematic and hermetic libraries, not only in Spain (National Library, El Escorial, Silos, Salamanca and Santiago de Compostela) but also in Europe (Vatican, Prague, Paris, Milan) in search of rare books and incunabula He likes to investigate the parallel history, the one that the official history books do not tell, the one that forces us to read between the lines to find the truth.

In order to document himself and learn many of the stories narrated by the author, he has traveled the great routes of Spain; Route of Santiago de Compostela, Route of the Silver, Mío Cid, Templars, Don Quixote, Roman Road, Tartessians, Carthage, etc.

His search has continued outside our borders; Prague, Paris, London, Milan, Rome, Athens and Cairo, looking for places of power, which marked the philosophical and alchemical knowledge of humanity.

His works, removing the fiction part, are documented with historical facts, characters and real books of Alchemy, which caused a paradigm or change in the culture of humanity. Many readers are surprised and find that reality exceeds fiction a thousand and one times.
