The Estepona City Council informs that the International Ballet Company of Moldova will present the work 'Sleeping Beauty', by Piotr Tchaikovsky, at the Felipe VI Auditorium, with the soloists Cristina Terentiev and Alexandru Balan. It will be next Friday, December 8, at 8:00 p.m.
The acclaimed Moldovan company is made up of soloists from Moldova, Ukraine and Italy, among other countries. Within its 2023 Winter Tour, it invites us to enjoy one of the most emblematic works of the classic ballet repertoire. The work and effort dedicated over a long time have made this project culminate in a company where refined technique and excellent dramatic interpretation give life to the best-known choreographies and scores of classical ballet.
Synopsis: At the court of King Florestan, the baptism of Princess Aurora is celebrated, the Lilac Fairy and other fairies have been invited, except the Carabosse Fairy, whom Cantalabutte, the master of ceremonies, has forgotten to invite. Outraged, Carabosse casts an evil spell, “When the Princess turns 16, she will prick herself with the needle of a spinning wheel and sleep for 100 years.” The curse is broken when the Lilac Fairy tells what happened to Prince Desiré and he kisses Aurora. To celebrate the wedding between Aurora and Desiré, joyous celebrations are prepared where characters from well-known stories will dance.
