Mixed exhibition of painting and sculpture by artist Sian Faber at Casa Las Tejerinas

The opening of the exhibition will take place on Friday, September 13, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with free admission until full capacity is reached.

Estepona Town Hall informs that Room 1 of the Casa de Las Tejerinas, located in the Plaza de las Flores, will host from next Friday, September 13, at 6:00 p.m., a new painting and sculpture exhibition by the New Zealand artist based in Spain, Sian Faber.

The exhibition is entitled 'Corazón Flamenco' and is made up of more than thirty pieces: framed pictures and large-format canvases, as well as glass sculptures and framed linen prints. It can be visited until September 25, from Tuesday to Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., and Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with free admission.

Sian Faber is a New Zealand artist based in Gaucín, a municipality in the Serranía de Ronda, who tells stories through her artwork, both about the natural world around her, and the rich cultures of Andalusia in which she is immersed. Having worked with artists and dancers throughout her artistic career, she uses unique methods to capture the spectacle and emotions of Flamenco.

A Fine Art graduate from Auckland, New Zealand, Sian has lived and worked in Sydney, Australia for over 30 years. As a painter and sculptor of figure and abstract art, she works with both traditional materials such as stone, glass and watercolour, as well as non-traditional ones (vulture feathers, her grandmother's crocheted objects...). She gives objects a second life, creating meaningful canvases that tell stories of flamenco.

Working with dancers who use their bodies to create art has been a new source of inspiration, creating something tangible from an art form, so transitory in nature. Sian's desire to capture that instant, like a pictogram on film, has resulted in the exhibition 'Corazón Flamenco'.

The artist says she is “deeply grateful to the Estepona dancer and muse Elisa González, who has opened her heart to show her flamenco spirit.”

His work is part of private collections in America, Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, Italy, France and Spain.
