The Casa de las Tejerinas will host the exhibition of paintings by the artist María Jesús Palacios
The exhibition will be open to the public from Thursday, September 19 to October 2 with free admission.
Estepona Town Hall informs that Room 2 of the Casa de Las Tejerinas, located in the Plaza de las Flores, will host from next Thursday, September 19, at 6:00 p.m., an exhibition of paintings by the artist María Jesús Palacios.
The exhibition, entitled 'Autumn Concert', is made up of 20 paintings, acrylics on wood, and on wood and gold leaf. It can be visited until 2 October, from Tuesday to Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., and Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with free admission.
María Jesús Palacios was born in Madrid on December 30, 1958. She never studied Fine Arts. She would have liked to but couldn't, despite her inordinate passion for painting. It was when she already had three children that she attended her first painting studio in Madrid. Fate took her to Buñol. Long walks in the countryside with her dog and her son's asthma led her to abandon oil painting and switch to acrylic. The serenity of maturity and the freedom of solitude completely changed her style, the way she expressed herself and what she expressed.
The contemplation of nature, seeing the changing seasons day by day, the relaxation of exercise, great conversations with other women, are what inspire her paintings, where acrylic has found the perfect space. In each painting she shares those sensations, stories, the arrival of dragonflies or swallows, pink skies that announce winds, the everyday and unnoticed. “I only hope that the one who looks at it knows how to capture those same sensations,” says the artist.
Since 2009 to the present, he has shown his work on more than a dozen occasions, either individually or collectively, in places such as Buñol, Requena, Játiva, Madrid, Osuna or Cheste, among others.
