Library day "the lost library" with the wizard puk

The City Council celebrates Library Day with 'The Lost Library', a magical theatre piece to promote reading with the Magician Puk.

The show will be performed on Sunday 27th at the Felipe VI auditorium with free admission, upon prior collection of invitations at the Padre Manuel Cultural Centre starting on Monday 21st October.

Estepona Town Hall announces that the 24th of October is the Day of Libraries, under the motto 'For a sustainable future'. For this reason, it has organised the free performance of 'The Lost Library' on Sunday 27th, a magical theatre play to promote reading. It will take place at 6:00 p.m. in the Felipe VI Auditorium. The Magician Puk presents this charming show, where children will enjoy his creative and imaginative power and adults will immerse themselves in an ocean of beauty.

Invitations can be collected from Monday 21st at the Padre Manuel Cultural Center, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., and from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Synopsis: Rodolfo works in a theatre company doing maintenance work. After sweeping and mopping the stage, he leaves everything ready for a children's theatre performance. But the actors don't arrive and the audience waits with uncertainty for the show. Rodolfo gets nervous and asks the audience to let him tell them about this play, 'The Lost Library', a legend told by generations but which no one knows... or maybe they do?

The boys will try to decipher a code to open the chest where a secret legend has been waiting for more than 50 years. Will they be able to discover the untold legend?

Since 1997, every October 24th is celebrated as the Day of the Libraries, an initiative of the Spanish Association of Friends of Children's and Young Adult Books, supported by the Ministry of Culture and Sport, in memory of the destruction of the Sarajevo Library, which was burned down in 1992 during the Balkan War. This initiative was born to convey to the public the importance of the library as a meeting place for readers of all ages with culture, and as an instrument for improving human education and coexistence.
