Estepona Town Hall informs that the poet, narrator, columnist and novelist Juan Emilio Ríos will present the book-catalogue 'Ireneo Ruiz, a painter from Campo de Gibraltar' on Friday 29 November at 6:00 p.m. The event will take place in the Alfonso Gil Alfonso Room of the Casa de Las Tejerinas,
The work 'Ireneo Ruiz, a painter from the Gibraltar countryside' aims to serve as a "sample" of part of the artistic career of the neorealist painter, with the texts, reviews and poems (also translated into English) by Juan Emilio Ríos. Together they have collaborated on multiple occasions, either with illustrations on the covers of various magazines, such as YARABÍ and GUADALMESÍ, accompanying the writer's poems with the painter's sketches and drawings, or with articles in the press and presentations at several of the artist's openings, by Juan Emilio Ríos.
The mutual admiration for their creative work has resulted in this eighty-page book-catalogue, which, in addition to the photographs by Soco Luís and the translations by Jenny Langston, which complement the authorship of the book, offers the description and development of three different projects, among which is 'La PAZjarita', which proposes the reflection and idealization of a lasting peace in the face of a harsh war.
