Estepona City Council announces that Room 1 of Casa de Las Tejerinas, located in Plaza de las Flores, will host a painting exhibition by artist Carmen Aranda Jurado starting April 3rd.

The painting exhibition, titled "With the Being in My Hands," will be open until April 16, Tuesday through Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.; Saturdays, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with free admission.

Carmen Aranda was born on July 5, 1961, in Cuevas Bajas (Málaga). A teacher by profession, she has dedicated herself to abstract painting on panel since 1988. Initially, she participated in several group and solo exhibitions in Girona, Cuevas Bajas, Antequera, and Málaga. In recent years, she has exhibited at various international art fairs.

In her work, intimate memory gives way to a determined commitment to expressing her world, with the passion of someone who loves and believes in art. In 2018, she worked with several galleries: Galería Javier Román, Eka & Moor Art Gallery, Galería Goyart, Galería Gorgonio San Juan, Proyecto Desat'art, (+)Arte, and Santana Art Gallery.

Since then, she has not stopped exhibiting until, at the beginning of 2020, she was affected by the cancellation of several projects due to COVID-19.

In 2021, she resumed her exhibition work with the solo exhibition "Without Memory or Time," held at the Bryan Hartley Robinson gallery. In 2022, she participated in the group exhibition "Emotion and Frida," alongside an international Mexican artist for the Mare Nostrum gallery. In early 2023, Aranda held her last solo exhibition, titled "My Painting and I," at the Cártama Estación Library.
