Educational exhibition "bodies. real human bodies"
The Estepona Exhibition Palace will host the educational exhibition "BODIES. Real Human Bodies."
This traveling exhibition brings together preserved and dissected human bodies to demonstrate the structure of their organs and systems. It will be open from April 11 to May 11.
The Councilor for Culture and Festivals, Macarena Diánez, and the event promoter, Rascid Bafraouri, today presented the exhibition "BODIES, Evolution. Real Human Bodies," a worldwide success in which visitors can learn about the complexity and beauty of the human body. It will be open to the public from April 11 to May 11 at the Exhibition and Congress Center.
The municipal official stated that the main objective of 'BODIES' is to help visitors understand how the human body is constructed, its organs, their distribution, and function, as well as the harmful effects of unhealthy habits such as smoking, unbalanced diets, and a sedentary lifestyle.
The councilor also emphasized that this exhibition has an educational purpose and offers schools and colleges the opportunity to learn about human anatomy, physiology, and health through an exhibition specifically focused on our bodies and modern daily life.
For his part, Rascid Bafraouri explained that the bodies on display are preserved using the plastination technique, which was invented by German anatomist Gunther Von Hagens and was the result of a long process spanning more than 20 years. It is the only technique used today to preserve a body intact for viewing.
The event promoter also reported that the exhibition is divided into different rooms, including those dedicated to the following systems: skeletal, muscular, nervous, circulatory, digestive, respiratory, urinary, and reproductive. Fetuses from different stages of gestation are also on display. The exhibition has specialized guides in all rooms, who can assist visitors with any questions or concerns.
In addition to the human guides, the exhibit features virtual guides who interact with the human attendees on LED screens, creating an interactive, entertaining, and recreational experience for both children and adults.
The opening hours will be Tuesday through Friday, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, and Saturday and Sunday, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM and from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, for the general public. Educational visits will be held during school hours.
Tickets are priced at 12 euros, with discounts for residents of Estepona.
