Vii national young performers competition 'ciudad de estepona' for children under 13 years old

Estepona City Council celebrates the final of the 7th 'Ciudad de Estepona' Young Performers Competition for children under 13 years of age.

The national competition will be held on May 24th (semifinals at Colegio San José) and the final on May 25th at the Mirador del Carmen Cultural Center. Young instrumentalists will participate: piano, strings (violin, viola, cello, and double bass), wind instruments, harp, and guitar.

Estepona Town Council announces that the seventh edition of the "Ciudad de Estepona" National Young Performers Competition will take place on May 24 (semi-finals at Colegio San José, at 10:00 a.m.) and May 25 (final in the Audition Room of the Music Conservatory, located in the Mirador del Carmen Cultural Centre, at 11:00 a.m.), with free admission until capacity is reached.

This national competition aims to promote and encourage culture and the arts among young people, with the aim of identifying and helping young musical virtuosos reach higher levels. It is aimed at young performers of piano, string instruments (violin, viola, cello, and double bass), wind instruments, harp, and guitar, up to the age of 13.

The 10 semi-finalists of the VII Young Performers Competition "Ciudad de Estepona" are the following:

• Alicia Arriaza González, cello, Seville, 13 years old

• Jesús Berrio Hernández, clarinet, Granada, 12 years old

• Gael Bravo Requena, cello, Almería, 12 years old

• Gael Chamorro Iglesias, piano, Valencia, 12 years old

• Leonard Erokhin Gómez, cello, Valladolid, 13 years old

• Sara Ferrer Valero, violin, Castellón, 12 years old

• Sofía Huerta Castrillo, piano, San Sebastián, 13 years old

• Adrián León Ruger, guitar, Seville, 13 years old

• Sara Camila Molina Isaaccura, harp, Madrid, 12 years old

• Mateo Pelegrín Tarazona, cello, Valencia, 9 years old

From among all of them, the jury will select the five finalists on the 24th, who will perform on Sunday, May 25th, at 11:00 a.m., at the Mirador del Carmen Cultural Center, with free admission until capacity is reached.

During the final gala, young Zaragoza violinists Pablo Beltrán Sánchez and Martina Moliner Alcaine, winners of the 6th edition of the competition, will perform.

The jury will be composed of leading figures in the musical world with national and internationally renowned careers. The president is Fernando Arias, cello, professor at the Royal Conservatory of Music of Madrid. The vocalists are Juan Mendoza, oboe, artistic director of the Reina Sofía School of Music; Eduardo Frías, piano, artistic director and manager of the Scherzo Foundation; Esteban Morales, percussion, manager of the Málaga Philharmonic Orchestra; Ana Valderrama, violin, professor at the Royal Conservatory of Music of Madrid; and Luís del Valle, piano, professor at the Royal Conservatory of Music of Madrid.

The following prizes will be established:

• 1st Prize: €1,000; 2nd Prize: €700; 3rd Prize: €500; and two Finalist Diplomas: €200 each.

Special prizes for the First Prize winner:

· "GEWA" Special Prize. GEWA Strings will award a case to the competition winner.

· Scherzo Foundation Special Award. A recital at Hinves Pianos in Madrid.

· Special Prize "Málaga Philharmonic Orchestra." A solo performance with the OFM in the 2026-2027 season.

· Special Award from the "Málaga Philharmonic Society." Participation in a recital organized by the SFM during the 2025-2026 season.

Special Awards:

· Special "Summer Camp" Award from the Estepona City Council and the Reina Sofía School of Music, for one of the finalists. Participation in the "Summer Camp" course organized by the School for two weeks in July 2026.

· Special Audience Award: €300

· Special Prize from Colegio San José for the youngest contestant.

Other special awards:

· Special Prize "Iberian Sinfonietta".

· Special Prize "Camerata Complutense".

· Special Prize “Barcelona International Young Artists Competition”.

Organized by the Gradus ad Parnassum Musical Association, chaired by Olga Tarasova (cellist professor of the Málaga Philharmonic Orchestra), artistic director of the competition, the Estepona City Council is the sponsor. Collaborating with the Reina Sofía School of Music, GEWA Strings, the Scherzo Foundation, the Málaga Philharmonic Orchestra (OFM), the Málaga Philharmonic Society, Sol Classic Management, the Iberian Sinfonietta Orchestra, the Camerata Complutense in Alcalá de Henares, and the Barcelona International Young Artists Competition, as well as the Colegio San José in Estepona and Royal Pianos, are the following.
