Estepona 2025 fair and festivals program
Estepona Town Council has presented the program for the 2025 Fair and Major Festivals, which will begin on Tuesday, July 1st, with the opening speech by Canal SUR presenter Eva Ruiz and a performance by Malaga-born Nuria Fergó. The event will take place at 9:00 PM along Avenida Juan Carlos I, in the fountain square of the Athletics Stadium. The inauguration and lighting of the fairgrounds, presided over by the local authorities and accompanied by the Estepona Municipal Band, will take place at 10:30 PM and will include the traditional fireworks display.
The Councilor for Festivals, Macarena Diánez, detailed the program, which includes performances and activities aimed at all audiences. The parade of giants and big-headed figures, accompanied by a musical float, will herald the start of the fair on Tuesday, July 1, at 8:00 p.m., prior to the opening speech, departing from the Víctor de Serna School.
To close the first day of the fair, a performance by the Culture Department's Ballroom, Cabaret, and Oriental Dance Group, directed by Mariví Rodríguez, and a performance by flamenco dancer Claudia Ramírez, "La Marivilla," are scheduled. The performance will take place at 11:30 p.m. in the Municipal Booth.
As for the performance program, the Municipal Booth will host free concerts during the Fair by artists of different musical styles such as Haze (Wednesday, July 2), Antonio José (Friday, July 4), Medina Azahara (Saturday, July 5), and Las Soles, María de la Colina and Sal Marina (show 'Al compás por sevillanas'. Thursday, July 3)
People with extreme sensitivity to loud sounds can pick up hearing protectors at the Civil Protection Booth, located at the entrance to the Fairgrounds. This way, they can reduce the effects of hearing exposure during the fair.
Wednesday of the fair will be dedicated to the little ones, who can enjoy a children's party at 7:00 p.m. with "Tina Kids and Friends" at the Municipal Booth. In addition, rides will have a discount during that day.
On Thursday, July 3, a Seniors' Snack Party will take place at the Municipal Booth, with the collaboration of the Los Remedios Bakery and Pastry Shop, livened up by the Mónica Peña Academy, and a performance by Tamara Jerez, starting at 8:00 p.m.
Free horse-drawn carriage ride
As was the case last year, from Thursday to Saturday, you can enjoy a free horse-drawn carriage ride every afternoon, stopping at the Municipal Pavilion.
Furthermore, from Friday to Sunday, between 12:00 and 20:00, the Horse Parade at the Fairgrounds will be open to all riders, who are advised to come dressed in Andalusian attire and with their horses decorated.
Horse enthusiasts have a date on Sunday, July 6th, at the 8th Andalusian Harness Competition. It will take place in the Horse Parade at the fairgrounds, and awards will be given to the best-dressed horses and riders in each category: Rider, Young Rider, Veteran Rider, Couple, and Horsewoman. The Estepona Horse Friends Association is collaborating.
And finally, the Plaza de Toros will host the traditional bullfight on Sunday, which this year will feature an exceptional lineup. Six bulls from the prestigious Hermanos García Jiménez and Olga Jiménez ranches will be fought by the greatest bullfighting figures who have emerged from Seville's Puerta del Príncipe: Morante, Manzanares, and Talavante.
The Flamenco Pirates, the Sugar Orchestra, and the Baraka & Ana Soto Group will entertain at the Municipal Booth during the fair.
City Hall workers have been working for several days to refurbish the Fairgrounds and install the illuminated entrance that will welcome visitors. Work will continue with the installation of the attractions and the preparation of the Municipal Pavilion, where the free concerts will be held.
