Estepona City Council announces that Room 2 of the Casa de Las Tejerinas, located in Plaza de las Flores, will host the watercolor exhibition "What Unites Us" by Argentine artist Flor Sangiao until July 3.
Comprised of twelve works, this exhibition immerses us in the intimate and evocative universe of an artist who has made the observation of nature her primary language. Through watercolor on paper, Florencia Sangiao captures borrowed moments of reality, everyday moments that, under her gaze, become windows to the universal. The works in this exhibition are part of the series "The Garden Belongs to Whoever Cares," a project that explores the symbiotic relationship between humans and their natural environment.
The exhibition, curated by art historian and consultant Mikey Rico, will remain open until July 3, Tuesday through Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., and Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with free admission.
Florencia Sangiao Rivera, known artistically as Flor Sangiao, was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in 1987. From a very young age, drawing was her natural form of expression. Although she began her training in architecture, she soon redirected her path toward art, studying drawing, painting, sculpture, and illustration at various institutions. However, it is her self-taught exploration and life experience, marked by travel and movement, that have defined her current style: an organic and synthetic line that seeks the essence of forms and emotions.
In this exhibition, Sangiao's works invite us to pause, to observe carefully, and to find in everyday life that which unites us as human beings. Her watercolors not only portray scenes but also speak to our relationship with the natural world and with ourselves. Every stroke, every void, every detail is an invitation to reflect on our own history and our connection to the environment we inhabit.
"What unites us" is the beauty hidden in the simple, in the everyday, and in the nature that surrounds us. It is a reminder that, in a diverse and multicultural world, we all share a common essence.
