Watercolor exhibition by rafael ochando
The Casa de Las Tejerinas will host an exhibition of watercolors by Algeciras artist Rafael Ochando.
The exhibition will be on display from July 10 to 30, with free access.
Estepona City Council announces that Room 1 of Casa de Las Tejerinas, located in Plaza de las Flores, will host an exhibition of watercolors by artist Rafael Ochando starting July 10th.
The painting exhibition consists of 38 medium- and large-format works, mainly landscapes, and can be visited until July 30, from Tuesday to Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., and Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with free admission.
Rafael Ochando Ruíz was born 73 years ago in Algeciras. “Since I was little, I felt a strong inclination toward drawing and painting. According to my parents, I started drawing from the moment I could hold a pencil. I always dreamed of studying Fine Arts and dedicating myself professionally to art, but life took me down other paths, and I finally ended up in a Clinical Analysis Laboratory, where I still practice.”
Over the years, my passion for painting led me to explore multiple media: comics, illustrations, oils, acrylics... but as they say, "he who tries to do too much, does little," and I gradually abandoned projects. It was an exhibition at the Gaudí Awards that left a deep impression on me and prompted me to dedicate myself fully to watercolor.
I'm completely self-taught. No one corrected my mistakes, and I'm still struggling to master the water, which isn't easy. However, with time and daily practice, I've been making progress little by little.
"I have had several solo exhibitions in Algeciras, and for several years now, I have participated in a group exhibition at El Cortijo de Guadacorte (Los Barrios). I paint daily, although time or obligations often make it difficult. Even so, I can't imagine a day without touching color, paper, and that eternal struggle with water."
