30th book fair: presentation of 'walking through estepona'
The 30th Book Fair hosts the presentation of the book 'Walking through Estepona', the second installment in the collection 'History of Estepona for Solidarity', written by local authors.
The book presentation will take place on August 14th at 9:00 PM. All proceeds from this publication will go to the CUDECA Foundation, which provides comprehensive professional care to people with cancer and other advanced illnesses.
Estepona City Council announces that the book presentation of 'Walking through Estepona' will take place next Thursday, August 14th, at 9:00 p.m., as part of the 30th Summer Book Fair, held on the Paseo Marítimo (Maritime Promenade), organized by Urbano Libros in collaboration with the City Council.
The book 'Walking through Estepona', written by Andrés Cintrano Fernández and Francisco Medina Infantes, with photographs by Juan Ordóñez Bazán, is the second installment in the collection 'History of Estepona for Solidarity'. It offers an interesting tour of the history of the town's urban center, its evolution from medieval times and its constitution as a municipality to the present day. It also attempts to resolve the doubts raised by street names and narrate the name changes that some streets and squares have undergone over the years. The book includes nearly 200 images, including photographs, maps, and historical documents, which help to better understand Estepona's past.
A group of friends, including Juan Ordóñez Bazán, Andrés Cintrano Fernández, and Francisco Medina, set out to spread the story of Estepona by publishing a series of books, the proceeds of which go to local NGOs.
In the first book, "A Window to the Past," the authors compiled the history of prominent figures from Estepona during the 19th and 20th centuries, offering a glimpse into their careers and contributions to the town. All proceeds will go to the Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC) in Estepona. With this second publication, all proceeds will benefit the CUDECA Foundation, which provides comprehensive professional care to people with cancer and other advanced diseases.
The 30th Summer Book Fair began on July 18th and will remain on the Paseo Marítimo until September 14th, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and from 7:00 p.m. to midnight, with daily signings by local authors.
