Latin culture day

Estepona celebrates Latin American Culture Day with a day of music, art, and gastronomy.

The event will take place on October 11 at the Mirador del Carmen, as part of the "Sharing Cultures" program and as part of the activities organized for the "Estepona lives its streets" event in autumn.

Estepona City Council announces that next Saturday, October 11th, the municipality will celebrate Latin American Culture Day, a festive event dedicated to the cultural, artistic, and culinary riches of Latin America. This event is part of the municipal program "Sharing Cultures," as well as the special program for the autumn event "Estepona Lives Its Streets," which will take place from October 10th to 12th, with numerous cultural, musical, and culinary offerings throughout the city.

The Councilor for the Suburbs area, Begoña Ortiz, stated that this event aims to highlight the cultural and social contributions of the Latin American communities residing in Estepona and strengthen the ties of coexistence with the rest of the city. In this regard, she noted that "our city is an example of intercultural coexistence, with more than 135 nationalities living together, of which almost 4,000 come from Latin American countries. Events like this foster mutual understanding and celebrate everything that unites us. A union that is especially special with Latin American countries, as we share a common language, similar traditions, family values, and a unique way of life."

Latin American Culture Day will be celebrated at the Mirador del Carmen, from 12:00 to 23:00. Throughout the day, the public will be able to enjoy a varied program that will include live music, craft displays, and a gastronomic experience featuring typical dishes from countries such as Mexico, Colombia, Venezuela, Peru, Argentina, Cuba, and the Dominican Republic, among others.

Among the scheduled activities are performances by folk dance groups, concerts, and entertainment with a DJ. Additionally, anyone who wishes to participate can register on-site for a Latin dance competition with the following prizes:

1st Prize: Dinner for two at Malva Beach, part of the Besaya group.

2nd Prize: A spa circuit for two at the Gran Hotel Elba Estepona

3rd Prize: Free drinks at the stands present at the event.

The City Council invites all residents and visitors to join this celebration, which seeks not only to entertain but also to bring cultures together, share traditions, and strengthen the community through art, music, and good food.
