Days of polish culture

The City Council celebrates 'Polish Culture Days' as part of a program to promote the integration of foreign residents.

They will take place on November 13th and 14th, and will be dedicated to Polish cinema with a tribute to director Juliusz Machulski and the screening of his latest film 'Vinci 2', partially filmed in Estepona.

The Estepona City Council will hold a new event on November 13th and 14th as part of its 'Sharing Cultures' program, designed to promote the participation of foreign residents in the city in social and cultural activities. This event, dedicated to Polish culture, will take place over two days.

The 'Polish Culture Days' will be dedicated to Polish cinema and, in particular, to the figure of one of the most renowned directors in the country, Juliusz Machulski, who will be honored for his career.

The activities will begin on Thursday, November 13, at 5:00 p.m., at the Mirador del Carmen with a monograph dedicated to the cinematic career of Juliusz Machulski (which the director himself will attend in person), author of emblematic titles that have marked Polish cinema in recent decades such as 'Seksmisja', 'Vabank', 'Kingsajz', 'Kiler' or 'Vinci', among many others.

During the session, the key elements of his style, his impact on European cinema, and his unique way of blending comedy, social commentary, and visual storytelling will be analyzed. The event will feature the participation of specialists and close collaborators of the director, as well as members of the specialized press. It will be conducted in Spanish. Those interested can confirm their attendance by emailing entrevistaVinci2@wkinie.pl

The program will continue on Friday, November 14, at 7:00 p.m., at the Felipe VI Auditorium Theatre, with a special screening of the film 'Vinci 2', the second part of the cult classic 'Vinci' (2004) and partially filmed in the municipality of Estepona.

The session will be attended by members of the cast; among others, Robert Wieckiewicz, Kamila Baar and María Ruiz López, as well as the producer and representatives of Polish cinema, who will present the film and share experiences from the filming and anecdotes about the collaboration with Machulski.

'Vinci 2' recaptures the spirit of the first installment, combining intrigue, comedy, and art in a story set in the world of art theft. The film promises a unique cinematic experience for fans of European cinema.

Seating for the film screening is limited, so please confirm your attendance by emailing filmVinci2@wkinie.pl

Both events are supported by the Estepona City Council, the Polish Embassy in Spain, private companies and WFDiF, the largest production company in Poland and one of the largest in Central Europe.

The 'Polish Culture Days' in Estepona is an event that unites cultures and promotes integration through the 'Sharing Cultures' project, highlighting the diversity and richness of traditions present in the city. This annual initiative has already included other activities such as St. Patrick's Day, Ireland's national holiday, Italian Day, Foreign Residents' Day, Ukrainian Culture Day, and celebrations of the cultures of Francophone countries, Scandinavian countries, Germany, and the United Kingdom, among others.

The Estepona City Council recently received the prestigious Joan Hunt Award, granted by the Málaga Provincial Council and the CUDECA Foundation, for its municipal initiative 'Sharing Cultures'. The award recognized this program as an “example of coexistence,” highlighting the work carried out by the City Council “to make diversity a strength, demonstrating that integration is key to building open and inclusive societies.”
