The Library of Contemporary Cultures has scheduled around twenty activities for the second quarter of the year
This cultural facility will host workshops, reading clubs, music series, film screenings and conferences over the next three months.
The Library of Contemporary Cultures at the Mirador del Carmen Cultural Center begins its program for the second quarter of the year tomorrow, which includes around twenty free activities.
Tomorrow, Tuesday, April 7, at 7:30 p.m., the event 'Cinema in the Eighth: 10 years without Umberto Eco' will be held.
On April 10th, activities will continue with the dance workshop: Lucid Movement. Contemporary Dance and Theatrical Tools, taught by dancer and choreographer Lucio A. Baglivo. It will be at 8:00 p.m.
On April 15, at 6:00 p.m., the Book Club dedicated to the work of Javier Marías, 'A Heart So White' (Alfaguara), will take place, and on April 21, a new session of Cinema at the Eighth, this time dedicated to Thomas Vinterberg, at 7:30 p.m.
On April 23, coinciding with Book Day, the translation and writing workshop "Before Reaching Your Hands" will be held at 8:00 p.m., taught by the translator Elías Ortigosa.
On April 26th, we have a date with the Estepona Chamber Music Series. This time, it will be a lyrical gala dedicated to 'The Voice as a Bridge Between Music and Literature'. It will be at 12:30 pm.
On April 30th, the Mirador del Carmen will host the presentation of the 4th 'City of Estepona' Novel Prize, which this year will feature a musical performance by Javier Ojeda. The event will begin at 7:00 PM.
On May 11, at 7:30 p.m., those interested can enjoy another session of Cinema at the Eighth: The cinema of Sebastián Silva.
On May 20th, at 6:00 PM, the Book Club will analyze the work 'You Will Eat Flowers' (Libros del Asteroide), by Lucía Solla.
On May 23rd, at 12:00 pm, the painting workshop 'The Artist Facing the Abyss: My Journey from Idea to Created Work' will be held. It will be led by the artist Leo Peralta.
On May 24th, at 5:00 PM, another session of the Estepona Chamber Music Series will take place: 'From Descriptive Music to Literary Romanticism'. The performance will be given by a Piano Quintet.
On May 26, at 7:30 p.m., the Cinema on Eighth will be dedicated to filmmaker Paolo Sorrentino.
On June 6, the Library of Contemporary Cultures joins the White Night festivities with two activities. At 8:30 p.m., there will be a lecture, 'Dressing Emotion: The Eternity of David Delfín,' given by experts on the Malaga-born designer, followed at 9:30 p.m. by a poetry recital by Fernando Vacas and Juan Antonio Bernier.
On June 10th, at 8:00 p.m., the writer Alfredo Taján will give a lecture to present the book 'Cleopatra VII. Beyond the myth'.
On June 16, at 7:30 p.m., the Cinema on Eighth Street program will feature the filmography of Víctor Erice.
On June 21st, at 12:00 pm, we will continue with the Estepona Chamber Music Series. It will feature the violin and piano recital 'Poetry, Folklore and Identity'.
On June 24th, at 6:00 PM, the Book Club will analyze the work 'Map of Solitudes' (Seix Barral) by Juan Gómez Bárcena.
Finally, on June 26, 27 and 28, the third edition of Flest, the Estepona Literary Festival, will take place.
