The Estepona City Council informs that Room 1 of the Casa de Las Tejerinas, located in the Plaza de las Flores, will host the 'Contrastes' painting exhibition by the Madrid artist Fernando López Lorrio from June 18th.
In this exhibition, the language of line and volume (geometric abstraction) engages in dialogue with the expression of deep emotions and the subconscious (abstract expressionism).
Through abstraction, the exhibition evolves from form, space, and materials, moving away from traditional figuration.
Following a family tradition, Fernando López Lorrio began his artistic career in 1996 as a self-taught artist. He has attended painting classes at the Art Department of the University of Alcalá de Henares and completed the course "In the Studio: Postwar Abstract Painting" at MoMA in New York. He has studied various artistic trends, focusing on abstract expressionism and constructivism, incorporating volumes with materials and transforming collage into an experimental laboratory where, using tools and materials other than brushes and pigments, he has developed a pure, paint-less painting, seeking a path to abstraction through expression. His work is inspired by literature, travel books, and real or imagined cities and landscapes, which have inspired images of unattainable places.
The exhibition can be visited until July 1st, from Tuesday to Friday from 09:00 to 20:00 and Saturdays from 09:00 to 14:00 and from 16:00 to 20:00, with free admission.
