Exhibition of the association of painters with the mouth and the foot
The opening of the exhibition will take place on July 2, at 7:00 p.m., and can be visited free of charge until July 16
Estepona City Council reports that Room 1 of the Casa de Las Tejerinas, located in the Plaza de las Flores, will host a painting exhibition by members of the Association of Painters with the Mouth and with el Pie, APBP, dedicated to the sale of cards, calendars, diaries, sheets or puzzles, among other products, made from reproductions of the work of artists who, due to their physical disability, either due to illness or accidents They cannot use their hands.
The sample will be inaugurated at 19:00 hours, and will be open until July 16, with free access.
The Association of Mouth and Foot Painters, founded by Erich Stegmann in 1956, has provided independence for more than 58 years to the lives of many artists.
All the members of the International Association are chronically disabled and all have benefited from the satisfaction of earning a living on their own, without depending on charity. In order to be full members (partners), their work must be of such quality that they can compete aesthetically and commercially with that of artists without any disability.
The sales also grant scholarships to artists who paint with their mouths or feet who, at first, are not of sufficient quality to become full members. In addition, loans are granted for the acquisition of equipment and treatment of his physical problems.
This global cooperative is unique and is directed and administered under the supervision of the members. In Spain they operate through a society called the Association of Painters with the Mouth and with the Foot (APBP), which is part of the international cooperative.
